In June 2016, Leonard School of Dance was selected from hundreds of applicants to dance in the Parade down The Mall as part of The Patron’s Lunch celebrations to mark The Queen’s 90th Birthday. Helen, together with nine of the school’s senior students performed choreography by the Royal Academy of Dance Artistic Director, Lynn Wallis OBE. The whole event was broadcast live on BBC 1.

Grace Curnock was selected from hundreds of children nationwide to join the Royal Ballet Junior Associate programme.

Tristan Byrne will be dancing in the Northern Ballet production of The Nutcracker at the Theatre Royal, Nottingham in November.

Oscar Ward reached the final of the RAD Genee International Ballet Competition and the final of the BBC Young Dancer Competition which was screened in 2017. Oscar then danced with Opera Nationala Burcuresti in Romania and became a First Soloist. He is now a dancer with English National Ballet based in London.

Paige Curzon gained all her RAD grades up to Advanced 1 at Leonard School of Dance before attending full time vocational training at KS Dance in Warrington. Paige is now a dancer at Etoile Ballet Theatre in Italy.

Bethan Hickey gained a First-class Honours Degree in Dance Science and is now studying for a master’s degree in Dance Psychology.

Rebecca Gale gained a BA Hons Degree in Dance at the University of Lincoln and is now teaching and choreographing.

Tassia Sissins is in her final year of study at Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

Harriet Machin is in her second year of study at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Madeleine Beesley attends Addict Dance in Leicester and in her second year of vocational training. Madeleine also helps with classes on Saturday morning at St Giles’.
